So, I'm Depressed. Now What?

Today was the first day I went to my EAP-approved therapist. Her conclusion? Likely clinical depression. I pretty much had all the signs.

She gave me a checklist.

- Feeling sad, tearful, crying all the time -- check.
- No interest in activities you used to enjoy -- check.
- Change in a weight or appetite - check.
- Sleep issues - check.
- Decreased activity/restlessness- check.
- Loss of energy/fatigue - check.
- Feeling worthless, guily - check.
- Hard time concentrating, make decisions - check.
- Death wishes - check.

So, great. I'm 29 years old and I'm depressed. What's next?

Apparently, another visit next week and an appointment in three weeks with a doctor to talk about medicine. (something, in the past I've always been again. But, I'm so unhappy right now I'll try anything.)

Well, that's why I'm writing this. Since I'm a writer by trade, it's the only way I know how to cope. And, I also think there are lots of other people out there that feel the same way. So hopefully, my experience can also help them.
